For the protection of forests and wildlife, the uniformed staff consists of Assistant Beat Officers, Forest Beat Officers, Forest Section Officers and Forest Range Officers.
In addition to the regular staff we have for the protection of Forests & Wildlife, we have employed many people from the local communities and tribes dependent upon the forests.

In the interior areas of the forest, temporary base camps are established with semi-permanent structures. Each Base camp consists of one or two forest department officials and (5) local youth (mostly local tribals like the Chenchus). They camp in the inaccessible forest areas and patrol these vulnerable areas every day.
They maintain registers showing the details of areas perambulated, wildlife sighted (Animals / signs), condition of forest areas visited and record the evidences through M-Stripes mobile app. If they encounter any offenders / poachers etc., they take action to arrest them and in cases, where offenders are more in number, they inform the nearest forest officers by means of cell phone/wireless etc,.
They are provided with uniforms, daily rations, torches, medicines and others facilities required for their effective functionality. Their presence in the interior vulnerable areas is very useful in obtaining information and curtailing the movement of poachers and smugglers. Their monthly salaries are paid directly into their bank accounts
Strike Forces are deployed either at Division or Range Head Quarters. Each Strike Force comprises of (5) strike force personnel and who are local youth, preferably tribals from that area and are provided with a jeep. The strike force works under the Forest Dept Officials
Whenever they get information about poaching /smuggling etc., or if the base camp watchers or any Forest Department officials need reinforcement for tackling problems, they will proceed to those spots immediately and assist them in booking cases, evicting encroachments etc. Their presence is a morale booster for the local staff and base camps as they can rely upon them in times of need and distress.
River Krishna flows through Nagarjunasagar Srisailam Tiger Reserve. The areas adjacent to the water bodies are vulnerable in terms of poaching, smuggling and other illegal activities. To strengthen protection along the river. 3 River parties are being employed. These 3 River parties are stationed at Sangameswaram and Lingalagattu of Atmakur WLM Division, and Anupu of Markapur WL Division for patrolling along the Krishna river.
These River parties are working relentlessly to curb poaching, smuggling, illegal fishing and other illegal activities along the Krishna River.
